Mumbai Trip (May, 2010)

We have been to Mumbai many times as a transit location, and have many stories to tell, but this trip around we were at the Aksa beach on the outskirts of the city. It is a place for busy locals to go when they need some time off. Getting there from the airport is a challenge as the cab drivers hate driving to far away locations and not have a fare back to the city.

The hotel had airport style security getting in and out, and it was extremely busy with locals having diifferent kinds of celebrations (marriage, anniversary), sometimes almost trying to outdo each other with the loudness of the music playing.

Since we had the buffet for breakfast and dinner, plus at times we even got our special meal requests.

The pool seemed to be the main attraction not only with the guests but also with the local crow population, so the management had to use firecrackers to drive them out from time to time.
